Hi, Folks.

Today I received a fan assy for T21. I installed it into
my T20 with a CPU upgraded to 1GHz-Pen3 and checked
the CPU temp. using mobilemeter. The difference is pretty
impressive.

With the original fan assy designed for T20, the CPU temp.
could go up to about 92C(=198F) under the maximum load,
even when the fan was rigorously working to cool it down.

With the fan assy for T21, the equilibrium CPU temp when the fan
is turned on is about 79C(=174F), about 13C lower than the
previous temp. After installing it, the CPU temp seems kept low
enough that no performance degradation occurs.

For those who have replaced, or will replace, the CPU of T20 to
a faster one, replacement of a fan assy is a must! You can find
a pull-out fan assy for T21 at as low as $10 if you go to ebay now.
So there is absolutely no reason why not.

Now I'm totally comfortable with my T20 working at 1GHz.
I hope this report is helpful for other T20 users.

Shingo
